Amazing wines from the Languedoc

Chateau Grézan is one of our favourite wineries – they also produce some of the most popular wines that we carry. Following on from his hugely successful visit to Borough Wines for a tasting last December, Lionel Razimbaud is back – though this time it’s for a tasting event at L’entrepot.

Chateau Grézan have 110 hectares of vines in the Faugeres appellation of the Languedoc in the South of France. Their magnificent vineyard is set against the backdrop of a 12th Century castle with sweeping views of the area. They practice “reasoned agriculture”, which focuses on respecting the environment through their methods.

Half of the vines lie within the Faugeres appellation, and are mainly Syrah & Grenache with some Carignan, Cinsault & Mouvedre to balance out the blends. The other half produces local wines – mainly Merlot & Syrah, but with a range of varieties from Pinot to Gamay and Viognier to Chardonnay. It’s a nice mix of the traditional and the modern, with plenty of room for play across many varietals.

From 7.30 on Wednesday 20th June, Lionel will be hosting a tasting with a selection of cheeses & charcuterie to match his magnificent wines. Please book early to avoid missing out on what promises to be an enlivening evening with an extremely knowledgeable and affable host. Tickets are available at Borough Wines for £15.
